Big event in Tinkong: the annual sports festival
The Nana Wontum Topra IV Sports Festival - November 12-16, 2018
Tinkong Park was the centre of attraction for five days as sports girls and boys competed in various sporting discipline to mark this years annual Sports Festival which now know as NANA WONTUM TOPRA IV ANNUAL SPORTS FESTIVAL.
Eleven schools took part in this years festival and competed in both field and track events from 12th November to 16th November, 2018. The festival was grace by the Chief of Tinkong Nana Wontum Topra IV at the opening ceremony and was climax with closing ceremony in attendance of the founder Mr. Albert Van Beek and the country director Mr. Henry Dekyem of Live Now and GoGhana Foundation. Live Now and GoGhana is one of the major sponsors of this year's sports festival which they have done so in the years past.
Live Now and GoGhana supported this year's festival in many ways, notable among them was the donation of various trophies for the events which were presented to deserving individuals and schools at the end of the festival.
In all eleven trophies were awarded and the schools that won these trophies included, Tinkong MA Jhs, Sons of God school, Tinkong Methodist Primary, Nyamebekyere MA Jhs and Otareso MA Jhs. Eunice Amponsah and Ansah Gideon from Tinkong MA Jhs and Otareso MA Jhs respectively was adjudged the best sports woman and man.
At the end of the festival the Tinkong Subzonal Sports Association presented Certificate of Appreciation to Live Now and GoGhana Foundation for their immense contribution to the development of sports and other areas of development and learning in the Tinkong area. The certificate of Appreciate was received by Mr. Albert Van Beek (Development Chief of Tinkong/Founder of Live Now Ffoundation) at his resistance.
